Read this practice page everyday before you practice. Practice everyday for half and hour. Work on Beauty and the Beast (pages 8-11) Practice in chunks using the Rule of Five. Go in order. Use the Rule of Five to know when to move on. Always practice to the metronome. Start slow! Start at 60 BPM. Go slower for now when practicing 8th notes. Don't use Jazz Hands! Use all colors of flash cards.
Pages 56-60. Practice! Make sure you practice for at least four days, for a half hour each day. The key is to get started. Use a timer to make sure you go for a full half hour. Practice in chunks. Sing the names of the notes as you play them from the melody (highest possible note at a given time). Make sure to take your time and think about what you're doing for the best results. Make sure you're playing the correct notes. Practice with the pink flash cards when you get them. Use them for no more than 10 minutes of your practice time each day.

Find three songs that you really like. Practice in chunks. Pages 55-58 You're not allowed to say, "I don't know" or shrug henceforth! By royal decree!!! Make sure to think about the different things you're working on in a song to stay engaged, so you don't get bored. Think of it as a competition with your past self, always striving to get better.
Pages 54-57 Sing along with your songs as you work on them. Sing Loud! Practice in chunks, everytime! Use the Rule of Five. Build up the chunks to the whole song. Count yourself in before you start playing to metronome. No broken finger joints. Remember your dynamics. Keep going if you make mistakes, don't stop, don't fix. Keep track of where you were supposed to be, that way you can jump back in.
