Got Those Blues!

1. Make sure you're playing the right notes.
2. metronome.
3. Write in all chords for Got Those Blues, roman numerals and letter names.
4. Loosen feel of blues swing, or make it more natural. Less honky tonk, cowboy feel, more blues.

Taking a Break?

1. Try to get in some fun time playing piano (cool time).
2. Lullaby, Cafe Vienna, and Got Those Blues, Memorize Got those Blues for a performance.
3. Go through all colors of the flash cards.
4. Watch your wrists (low).
5. Try to feel the songs, and think about the musicality once you've gotten past the mechanical aspects.

Pushing the Limits

1. Pages 78-83. 
2. Read directions.
3. Work on relaxing.

Trying to find Songs

1. 5/31/17 Keep your wrists low! Remember Play/Prepare.

3. Focus on staying relaxed. 
4. Make sure songs sound musical.
5. Work on tightening rhythms.

Working with Chords

1. Work on pages 45-49 in Adult level 1 book.
2. Try to analyze and understand what chords and inversions you're playing.
3. Use the metronome, start with 60 BPM.
4. Nice work with Called to Serve!

Video Performance Prep!

1. Be ready to perform Called to Serve by the next time I see you! We'll make a video and everything. :-)
2. Work out final kinks in the song in preparation for this performance, including fingering issues, missing rests, and the ending.
3. Memorize the music so you can play without it.
4. Workout problem spots by being smart, taking your time, and having a plan. Go slower, play with hands separately, or play without the metronome super slow and go through the physical motions. Whatever it takes.
5. Practice playing with feeling and musicality.
