  1. work on He’s a Jolly chords, especially to recording.

  2. move on to 28-29.

  3. Work on melody while counting out loud. Work in chunks first. Sing the notes while counting.

  4. Always sing while working on melody.

  5. Bring Jolly up to 90 bpm gradually once you can play the whole song correctly. Only go up by about 5 bpm at a time.

  6. Work on Regular G chord. Work by itself and then in pairs with C and D7, the three chords in Jolly.

Aura Lee

  1. Work on Aura Lee chords and melody.

  2. work on new chord changes in Aura lee in pairs of two to the metronome first, as usual, before attempting to work on them in larger chunks.

  3. Double and triple check that you’re reading the notes correctly and reading them from the page, rather than trying to guess or using the guitar to try to cut corners.

  4. Use the recordings below to work on the melody at 60 and 75 BPM once you can play the whole song.
